The 17 year old girl is described as healthy and she lives with her brother and sister. She is studying at a vocational training center for the service business as a hairdresser. She attends a boxing club. She is independent, good at all household chores, tidy, responsible, friendly and sensitive. She has good relations with her brother and sister. She helps her brother with his homework, making the bed, dressing, washing the dishes. She gets along with peers and adults and is good-natured. She loves sincerity and a smile and has compassion for others. She is respectful to adults and has well-developed social skills. She enjoys reading, listening to music, surfing social networks and cooking.

The 15 year old girl is described as healthy. She also helps her younger brother with housework, making the bed, getting dressed and washing the dishes. She is attending gymnasium, is a good student and is responsible for her studies. She is friends with the children in her class and has good relations with most of the teachers. Sometimes conflicts arise because she does not know how to take comments. She takes remarks as personal insults. She tries to get along with the children and staff and knows how to speak politely. However, she often talks back and objects to everything. She is independent and does all household chores well. However, she is often lazy and procrastinates. She likes to listen to music and surf social networks.

The 9 year old boy is described as healthy, is a student at a main school and is studying well. He reads well and recites a poem with intonation. He does well in mathematics and likes counting problems. The boy lives with his sisters. He has easy contact with peers and adults, is willing to communicate and seeks attention. He reacts hostilely to comments, is capricious, stubborn and impatient. He can become quick to get angry if things go wrong. He is communicative, does not get scared in new environments, and has courage to communicate with people. He likes to show his affection to close people, to cuddle and hug. He is mobile and active. He likes to move around, to ride his bike, to play various outdoor games, and to be the center of attention. He likes to draw, watch cartoons and play computer games. He often needs to limit time spent on the computer. He likes to help adults in the kitchen to cook and is willing to take part in various household chores to the best of his ability.

The children want to live with their siblings in a family and be adopted together.

Meet Brothers Kole (12), Shay (11), and Vance (8)

These three kind and joyful brothers share a close bond and long to be adopted together. Despite living in separate foster homes, they see each other often and treasure every moment spent playing, celebrating, and growing side by side. Kole is responsible and sociable, Shay is caring and thoughtful, and Vance is curious and full of wonder.

All three are healthy, independent in their routines, and eager to join a loving forever family where they can be reunited and thrive together.

William, 10, is a calm, stable and cheerful child who can sometimes be a bit too straightforward in expressing his thoughts. Even though he can be blunt, he is willing to listen to advice from adults and make changes. He resides in a small group home in his Asian country and attends mainstream school. He is an outstanding student with excellent performance in both academics and conduct. He has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and weak social skills. 

William loves reading and many outdoor sport activities such as riding bicycle, scooter and playing soccer. He is a bright and adaptable child with a warm spirit, ready to thrive in a nurturing environment.

Due to his country’s matching process, families with a home study for any country can submit to be considered for William.

Court will turn 14 years old next week–still waiting for a family. Court came into care when he was a baby though his biological father initially was involved and sought custody of him. However, he eventually became untracable and Court’s birthmother relinquished him to the system for adoption in 2016. From the ages of 3-9, Court lived with a foster family where he had a good relationship with the foster family. Court then was placed for adoption with a local family in his country and while the post-placement at six months showed everything was going well and the domestic adoption was granted, two months later the adoptive parents dissolved the adoption citing difficulty in managing Court’s emotional outbursts and challenging behaviors in school after resumption of classes post-COVID.  Despite professional intervention, the family relinquished Court back to the system. He was later diagnosed with ADHD and Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD). 

After the relinquishment of the adoptive parents, Court settled in to an orphanage and its adjacent school. He became a “big brother” and role model among his co-residents at the orphanage and excelled academically and in sports at school.  His emotions were generally stable while staying there.    At the time of the report written in July 2025, he was preparing to be promoted to a mainstream school in September and had been moved to a small group home near the school after a successful interview with his social worker. 

Court impressed his social worker as a smart, polite, articulate, level-headed, sensible and frank teenager on the day of visit.     He was able to articulate his thoughts clearly and showed readiness to be adopted again.   He has demonstrated diligence, maturity, and incredible inner strength and motivation over difficult circumstances in life.   While he has developed many strengths and life skills throughout the journey, deep in his heart he still envisions a loving, stable and permanent home that he can call his own—a family where he can find rest, stability and peace through the highs and lows in life.   Court expresses his wish to be adopted by a nurturing and loving family who understands his tangible and psychological needs.   Surely, Court is in need of a strong, patient, well-informed, committed, and psychologically trained family who has the resources and knowledge for supporting his needs and dealing with his trauma. 

 

Hunter is a cheerful 10-year-old boy in need of a loving home capable of supporting him and his long-term needs. In 2018, Hunter was diagnosed with Coffin-Lowry Syndrome, a genetic disorder, with dysmorphic features including hypertelorism, depressed nasal bridge, thick lips, wide mouth, and broad tapering fingers. He also has developmental delay, profound sensorineural hearing loss, scoliosis, hyperopia and astigmatism, asthma, beta thalassemia trait, and short stature. He received a cochlear implant in his left ear in April 2020 and continues to use a hearing aid in his right ear. He is required to attend medical appointments at different specialties, including the Endocrine Clinic, Eye Clinic, Asthma Clinic, ENT, Prosthetic & Orthotic, Neurology Clinic, General Pediatrics, Hearing Aid Prescription and Spinal and Brace Clinic. His asthma has become stable in recent years and is prescribed medication if needed.  He also has history of seizure but has been stable as well.  Despite all of his long-term conditions, his health is generally stable and he does not take any regular medications.

Hunter is an active, pleasant, friendly and outgoing boy who always shows his smiles. He is an affectionate child who enjoys holding hands, cuddles and hugs from his familiar caregivers. Hunter currently does not have any speech; however, he can express himself by producing some vocal sounds, such as “er” or “ar” or through some simple gestures, such as pointing to things he is interested in or wants or through pictures and Quick Talker. He has received sign language training and learned to use body gestures to express himself. He can wave his hand to greet or to show refusal occasionally. Even with his limitations, Hunter shares a good relationship with the other children. He is generally calm, though he can get upset when he doesn’t get what he wants, but he is easily diverted and his frustration will resolve.

Though Hunter is slightly weaker in trunk control, shoulder stability, upper limb control, muscle tone, bilateral coordination, and motor planning, he can keep his balance while standing and walking. He can also walk up and down stairs by holding someone’s hand, run, and climb up and down as shared. In terms of fine motor skills, he has poor to fair finger strength, finger dexterity and bilateral coordination of both upper limbs. He has a fair to poor tripod and pincer grip in picking up small objects, and fair to poor performance in handwriting and manipulating scissors to cut a straight line. Being curious, Hunter likes exploring his environment and new things.  He likes playing with building blocks, coloring, and watching TV and YouTube videos. He enjoys participating in activities at the orphanage.

Hunter needs a family who can help him continue in his development and who will be dedicated to his life-long needs.

Alan is amazing 10 years old boy who had a rough start with an unstable and unhealthy environment. He is the victim of parental physical abuse and suffers from post-traumatic past

He connects well with both peers and adults. He is calm, helpful and kind. The boy eagerly learns about nature, sings songs, makes interesting art works, uses computer programs well.

He needs a forever home to support him as he continues to overcome negative experiences of his past and shower him with the love every child deserves.

He has a lot of potentials and wants to be adopted. He is highly recommended by his caregivers. The family with an involved, hands-on father will be ideal for this boy. He would do really well as the youngest or only child (or in a family where the other children are grown). He needs an experienced adoptive family who can give him a lot of one-on-one attention and help build his trust in humanity back.

Ashford enjoys the presence of adults and emotionally expresses himself with laughter, crying and sounds. He laughs when tickled and smiles when he sees familiar faces. Ashford is unable to sit, stand, nor does he have head control. He prefers to be on his stomach. He does not have coordinated movement of his arms or legs and has little ability to hold a toy. Ashford’s diagnosis is Microcephaly. He was born prematurely and received intervention at the hospital at birth. Some history of convulsions, controlled with medication. Suspicion of left nasal atresia.

Anthony is an adorable, sweet boy! Anthony has a lack of development physically and neurologically. In late 2015, a ventriculoperiteneal shunt was placed and he has been free of seizures since then. He cannot sit upright by himself and does not talk, but responds to sound. Anthony is tube fed due to lack of suck reflex. He does not react well to teasing or tactile stimulation by smiling but by irritation and crying.

Isaac is a sweet little boy living in an Eastern Europe orphanage. He cannot sit without support or turn between his stomach and back. There is little support in the legs. Isaac doesn’t have an attention span and doesn’t focus on his surroundings. He reacts to touch but doesn’t when verbally addressed. He doesn’t understand speech but sometimes makes sounds. Isaac is mostly calm and smiles. He doesn’t interact with the children and adults around him.

There is little reaction with toys and no playing when in his possession. Isaac is completely dependent on the help of the staff.

Condition after a brain hemorrhage. Cyst in the left cerebral hemisphere. Microcephaly. Spastic quadriparesis. Cryptorchidism. Anemic syndrome. Behind in his neuro-psychical development. When put on his belly or held, he keeps his head up. He slightly turns to one side but doesn’t turn independently from back to stomach and vice versa. He doesn’t try to sit up and doesn’t get up to a standing position. He doesn’t have good support in his legs. He starts after loud sound but doesn’t turn his head to the direction of the sound. He listens to the speech of adults. He doesn’t look at an adult leaning over him. He doesn’t follow with a look moving objects or people. He reacts to touch. He is calm and doesn’t cry without reason. He reacts positively to interactions and laughs loud. Photos and videos from June 2015 are available through the agency.

Brooklyn and Bailey are brothers, they reside in a foster family.

Brooklyn has muscular dystrophy and a speech disorder. He has normal mental development. In 2020 he experienced burns over a large portion of his body and had right-sided bronchopneumonia. Therapy: Operative excisional cleaning of the wounds, sterile dressings; intensive treatment of thermal shock; antibiotic therapy. Brooklyn receives additional support in the form of resource teaching. With him a team of specialist work –speech therapist, psychologist, and resource teacher within the limits of the pre-school. The child is for a second year in a row in the same preschool class, because he was delayed from starting first grade because of medical reasons. He likes artistic activities and playing with his peers. He understands and strongly desires to be adopted, even if he does not talk much, his short dialogs are for his future surrounded by his loved ones.

Bailey is a healthy child with age-appropriate physical and neuropsychological development. He has good communication skills, has leadership qualities which sometimes turn bossy, and has a group of friends. He is curious, social and actively interacts with the people around him of different ages. Bailey has the attitude and the mindset for the adoption process with the needed positivity towards providing good living
conditions, including satisfying of the physiological needs, the needs for security, love and belonging, respect and self-affirmation. He understands and strongly desires to be adopted, he often talks about his future, surrounded by his loved ones. The adoption process is so desired and awaited by Bailey. The child is prepared and
ready to have his family, his adoptive parents.

Brian recognizes familiar adults and has formed an attachment to his favorite caregiver. He is uncomfortable around strangers. He is working with a physical therapist and a teacher on fine and gross motor skills. He can pick up toys and transfer them from hand to hand. His teacher reports that he understands what is being said to him and has recently begun responding to simple directions such as “give me”. He is able to sit unassisted and moves around in a baby walker.

Woodrow can sit up independently and will sometimes kneel as well. He occasionally bears weight on his feet, but cannot put his feet completely flat and because his ankles are so tight. He would need surgery before being able to do so. Woodrow doesn’t really scoot or crawl, but he can still make his way across a room by rolling and wiggling.

Woodrow loves to eat and gets quite upset if meal time is late. He doesn’t self feed, but eats pureed food by mouth. It can be a messy affair, but he is quite satisfied when he is done. Woodrow drinks some with a sippy cup or water bottle, but also likes to drink from a regular cup if he is feeling particularly thirsty.

Woodrow is not a fan of bath time and tends to move around a lot as he tries to keep his caregiver from bathing him, particularly his face and head. He is very picky about people touching his head – sometimes he likes a good head massage and other times he will duck away from anyone who tries to touch his head at all. He also does not like anyone touching his face, especially to try and wipe it off after a meal or to brush his teeth. The one exception he sometimes makes is for his caregiver to kiss his cheeks and neck, which he occasionally greets with a big smile.

In the past, Woodrow would often cry and thrash inconsolably for long periods at a time no matter what his caregivers tried. Some changes with medications have helped him drastically. He still does not sleep on a regular schedule, but if he’s awake during the night, he is generally calm, sometimes quiet and sometimes “talking” with his little noises.

Woodrow really likes his feet and will often clap them together. He also uses his feet to protect his head which he hits repeatedly for sensory input. Woodrow does not do a lot of purposeful movement with his hands, but often wrings them.

Woodrow goes to physical therapy and attends a special education class every day. He likes to be pushed around in his wheelchair and enjoys going in the swing.

Woodrow is a ticklish guy and will often reward tickles with a smile. While he is not generally a cuddler, he sometimes enjoys being held and cuddled and will lean in to relax.

Progress with Woodrow has been slow, but he is learning and responding. We continue to pray that he would know that he is safe, loved and treasured. We also pray that a brave and bold family would step forward to pursue his adoption. He is worth it.

Scotty has little support from his legs. His head control has improved and he can turn from his back to his belly. He sits independently by holding on to the bars of his crib and also makes attempts to stand up. Scotty can hold toys in his hands and tries to clap! He maintains eye contact and recognizes the faces of his caregivers. Scotty expresses appropriate emotions to happiness and agitation and will laugh out loud when teases. He imitates and pronounces combinations of sounds and syllables. Scotty interacts with all children and caregivers. He likes music and toys. Scotty is fed by a spoon and receives additional nutrition from a bottle.

Arlen and his four siblings came into care in 2022 due to being victims of multiple types of abuse in their family. Their parents were known to be drug users with emotional instability and aggressive behaviors between them. They were also verbally abusive toward the police and other authorities. Arlen is being placed for adoption as a single child.

As Arlen was never enrolled in school until he was taken into protective custody, he is in the first grade. He is familiar with some letters and numbers but cannot read or do simple arithmetic problems. He truly enjoys art class since he has great skills for doing crafts. He seeks adult validation in every activity he participates in. However, while he recognizes authority figures, he is defiant toward them and only obeys with some difficulty. Arlen usually gets along well with peers and adults; however, when he gets mad or frustrated, he begins to behave in a bad and aggressive way. He lies whenever he wants to avoid his responsibilities. He gets upset when he cannot do what he wants. His cognitive development is affected. Arlen has been diagnosed with ADHD, mild cognitive developmental delay, focalized epilepsy, and oppositional defiant disorder. He goes to occupational and psychiatric therapy, and also takes daily medication. There are no concerns regarding his motor and language development.

As mentioned, Arlen and his siblings were subjected to multiple types of abuse. It has been reported by his teachers that in addition to being aggressive toward other children in the class. Though Arlen can verbally express his feelings and emotions, he has a hard time managing them. He gets easily frustrated and has trouble finishing any given task. He is afraid of the dark and of being alone. Arlen gets anxious when he consumes sugary foods, and he also gets anxious when an outing is going to happen soon. He goes to bed around 8 pm but takes a long time to fall asleep.

Even though Arlen has been known to be aggressive toward others, his child study also reports he usually gets along with adults, peers, younger children and animals. Arlen is not shy when meeting people; it is easy for him to take the initiative to start a conversation with anybody. He likes to take the lead in any game. Arlen can be affectionate toward those he knows and is comfortable with. He likes to maintain good hygiene habits and takes care of his personal belongings.

Arlen is very active during the day. He loves to go to the park and to play soccer with friends. Arlen is interested in any outdoor recreational activity; he loves to do physical exercise. He has stated that he is good at swimming. Arlen has stated that he would love to get married and have kids. He does not want to go to college but would like to work handling heavy machines. He is open to being adopted by any type of family.

Ian is a ton of fun! He loves music- always requesting his favorite songs on the speaker so he can sing along! He is a wheelchair user that is working on self propelling- he is such a hard worker. He does have some visual impairment in one eye, but his hearing has made up for this impairment…he can hear your voice from rooms away and call for you! He loves spending time with his friends, enjoying his favorite foods, and taking trips to the local market to get some yummy street food! He would greatly benefit from a loving family because he is such a relational boy!

Introducing an amazing sibling group of three from Eastern Europe: Dawson, Dahlia, & Addison. After an incident in the home of the family on 14 March 2022 the boy received a first degree burn on his face and arms. Six surgeries have been performed, with one of them using the child’s right thigh as a donor site. He was discharged on 04/05/2022 and he was placed together with his sisters, Dahlia and Addison, in an emergency unit. The parents desired for the children to be brought up in a foster family. After a matching period, Dawson, Dahlia, and Addison were placed in a foster family. Contacts between the parents and the children were being performed once a month.

Later, in a multidisciplinary meeting with the Director of Social Assistance on 11/07/2023, it was decided that the children are to be registered in the registry for Adoption and their contacts with the biological family have been discontinued. The children have experienced the trauma of having lived in an abusive home, but otherwise are healthy, beautiful children.

Zander entered care in 2018 at the age of 5 or 6. He is in school and is currently attending the 4th grade for the second time. He is in a special education program due to multiple diagnoses. Zander took an IQ test in September 2022 and the results showed a mild cognitive delay. He has also been diagnosed with mixed anxiety and depressive disorders, for which he takes medication. According to the child´s medical history, he also has a diagnosis of macrodactyly and gigantism, in addition to congenital hand deformity. However, this does not affect Zander’s state of health. There are no concerns regarding his overall motor development. Zander has proper language, but sometimes his tone of voice and vocalization make it hard to fully understand what he is trying to say. It is hard for him to concentrate on one specific task.

While Zander enjoys school and has a good relationship with peers, he often experiences a lack of motivation regarding school. When faced when academic challenges he often gives up. Zander experiences sudden changes in his behavior, and his mood and disposition towards activities can vary from one moment to another. When he is in a good mood, he follows instructions and is respectful and obedient. Zander likes it when people invite him to participate in an activity. He is still learning to manage his impulses and frustration. Many times, when he does not get what he wants, he reacts inappropriately without measuring the consequences of his actions. Zander is not disrespectful towards authority figures, but it is hard for him to follow instructions and directions.

When interacting with other kids, at first he is shy due to the condition of his right hand, but once he feels comfortable he starts to interact with others. Sometimes he cannot get along well with peers due to comments he says that might be hurtful to others or because of bad behaviors to call for attention. Zander gets anxious when he wants to interact with a peer he likes. Playing with peers, watching TV, or playing on the computer makes him happy. He experiences sadness when people do not pay attention to what he is doing. He is scared of horror movies.

Zander enjoys sports such as swimming, basketball, and soccer. He also enjoys artistic activities such as dancing and singing. He is good at drawing and painting. Zander says he likes birds and dogs.

Elon walks independently. He feeds himself and cleans up after his meals. He does not talk at this time, but understands what is said to him and follows simple instructions. He responds to his name. He interacts appropriately with adults and with other children. He attends to tasks and works well 1:1 and in a small group.

A male child with age-appropriate physical and neuropsychic development. Attended irregular school, with unlearned elementary school skills and knowledge. With aggressive manifestations upon minor provocations. Intellectual level – borderline low IQ.

Liam was born December 2011. He was found to have multiple health and development issues, including a history of Infantile Spasm, left temporal arachnoid cyst, severe low vision, and moderate to severe grade mental retardation. He received training from different therapists and maintained steady improvement all along. Although he has a history of Infantile Spasm, he has a stable health condition with no records of any epileptic attacks since his admission to the present school. Due to his parents’ inability to take care of him, he was placed in a orphanage at the age of 3.

Liam is observed to be a lovely, easygoing, and well-behaved child, who is well loved by his teachers and caregivers. He is described as a happy child with stable emotions, and expresses enjoyment through his lovely smile which is heart-melting. He enjoys one-on-one interaction with his main caregiver.

Thomas is described as a lovable, active, cheerful and sociable 14-year-old boy who enjoys various sports such as basketball, hiking and cycling. In addition, he also enjoys playing computer games, singing and watching YouTube videos. When he smiles and laughs, a deep dimple can be seen on his right cheek. He shows frequent and appropriate eye contact when interacting with others.  Thomas readily helps out in the classroom at school where he performs well academically and has developed positive relationships with his peers. His involvement in sports has not only helped Thomas to understand the importance of collaboration and cooperation, but also supported him in regulating his body sensations for better emotional regulation and stability.

Thomas has been living in the same foster home since 2012 and has developed close relationships with various members of the foster family. However, he understands that the foster family is only temporary, and he longs for a permanent family to love and care for him. Thomas actually had a family identified for him, but the adoption process was taking a long time and eventually the family decided that caring for a teenager was beyond their capacity. Now Thomas is seeking a loving family who can provide him with stability and guidance while honoring his cultural heritage and connection with past caregivers. As Thomas has grown up with his current foster family and has seen them maintain a relationship with their biological children who are now adults living overseas, he hopes for a family who will allow him to maintain contact with his foster family over social media and he hopes to visit them when he is older.

With committed caregivers by his side, it is believed that Thomas will build meaningful relationships with his adoptive family and thrive to his fullest potential. Thomas has a diagnosis of ADHD, but his medication has improved his ability to sustain attention and reduced his hyperactivity. Thomas shows age-appropriate development and self-care skills and enjoys generally good health. We believe that there is a family out there that can provide the love and stability that Thomas needs and deserves. He
shows so much potential and has consistently expressed a desire for a forever family.

Jordy and Mike are ready for a family.  Agency staff who met them said, “they are clinically healthy and very well behaved and raised children. They are doing great at school on many subjects which is rare in general for abandoned children. The fact that they have been raised in foster care by a nice family, is definitely helping them.”

Ethan is well developed for his age. He is a warm and curious little boy. His best toy is a ball. He laughs and shouts every time he got his ball. Ethan is a cheerful and peaceful child. He likes the other children. Observes and manipulates with toys. He knows how to charm his caregivers and receives lots of attention.

With a familiar adult, Ethan has a good emotional tone – he enjoys a hide and seek game and sometimes gives his hand for “hello”.

He cannot walk yet, but he sits, crawls and staying straight caught for fixed support, showing progress in his motor skill development. The child has flat feet with valgus deviation of both feet – it was recommended to wear orthopedic shoes. Ethan stands up on his own until he is caught on a fixed support, stands on tiptoe, does not step aside, placed in a walker, moves short distances; pronounces long sound combinations.

A family met Ethan in late 2024 & would be willing to share their experiences with another inquiring family.

Dallas enjoys going to the park and eating ice cream. He lives with a foster family. Dallas likes to spend time with his foster family. He likes affection from people who are close to him.  Dallas has been part of the summer hosting program- don’t miss all his videos!

JULY 2023 Hosting Update: Dallas is a calm, lovely, and talkative boy. He loves to learn new things and talk about different topics. His favorite activities are talking, playing board games, and playing soccer. Although sometimes it is difficult to keep his attention, he perseveres to achieve his goals and learn. He has a leisurely soul and a more incredible spirit. He also is cautious about trying new things that involve risk. In him is a big desire to find a family forever. He is very respectful and helpful in the household chores. He cares about the well-being of the people he loves.  The adoption agency program director said he is AWESOME and she’d bring him home herself if she had the room! There is a $4500 agency fee reduction for Dallas’ adoption with the listing adoption agency. Additional agency fee reductions may be available based on the adoptive family’s circumstances.

Dallas now has an additional $2,500 grant through Children Need Families; the listing adoption agency will allocate this grant.

Martin was born in 2018; he is a curious and playful kid.  He likes playing outside and loves to eat hot dogs and to drink fresh juice.  Martin has mild developmental delays and attends a regular school.

 

Older brother Rafael (born in 2014), likes being outside and jumping on the trampoline.  He loves chicken, rice, and cake.  Rafael has developmental delays and is currently attending a special education school.

Steven is receiving therapy to help him develop his communication and interpersonal skills. He loves to swim, swing, and play with his special stuffed animals. He loves chicken noodle soup, plantains, and anything sweet.

Robby is delayed in all aspects of his development, but has begun to make small gains in learning . He will interact with caregivers and other children if an activity is interesting to him. Anthony has been waiting for a family for a long time. Despite his Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy he loves to get out of his wheelchair and stretch out on the floor or bed. He is good at moving himself into silly positions, often falling asleep in the funniest ones! Anthony’s favorite toys are those with lights. He loves all colors of lights and often finds them around the room during school. He also enjoys music or being outdoors. Anthony enjoys having people he knows near him, and will often find them and initiate affection with his hand or head.

Anthony has the best smile, but only shows it when he’s truly happy. This might be while he’s being tickled or comforted, during a favorite song, or while feeling the breeze on his face. He has many ways of communicating, such as laughing, crying, and making lots of facial expressions. Anthony is not one to hide how he feels! Anthony would benefit from a family who can care for all his needs, especially as he grows bigger. He’ll bring a sense of love and joy to any household!

Anders currently lives in a small Eastern European country. He is happiest listening to soft music or playing with toys that make sound! Anders is described as a happy, calm child. Tests show that Anders has learning and motor delays, as well as occasional seizures.

Everett resides in a center for children. He is a healthy, good-looking boy who has autism with severe delays in intellectual functioning. He makes sounds but has no speech skills. He shows stereotypical mannerisms of rocking, hand fluttering, and hyperactivity. He plays by himself and does not interact with others. He seldom reacts to his name. Sometimes he self-harms or shows frustration. He does not sustain attention for very long. He needs assistance in feeding, clothing and self-care. He needs close attention. He needs a loving family.

He lives at the orphanage since 2016. Normal weight and height parameters. Psychomotor development is normal. He is the victim of parental physical abuse and suffers from post-traumatic past. He is under the care of psychiatrist and take medication. No medical diagnoses in his chart, but trauma. You could tell that he is emotionally somewhat fragile.

He is communicative, talkative and charming boy. Positive relationship with peers and adults. His teachers describe him as very good, active and independent student. The computer class, math and English are his favorite subjects. He loves to play soccer, card games and chess. He has a lot of potentials and wants to be adopted. He is highly recommended by his caregivers. The family with an involved, hands-on father will be ideal for this boy. He would do really well as the youngest or only child (or in a family where the other children are grown). He needs an experienced adoptive family who can give him a lot of one-on-one attention and help build his trust in humanity back.

Sal and Monty are eager to go to a family as soon as possible! These brothers from Latin America are currently 8 and 7 years old.

Sal and Monty came into care in late 2020 after their teacher reported noticing repeated physical injuries with one of the children. At that time, protective services investigated and found that the children living with their mother who had previously lost custody of them due to abuse when Sal was only a year old.

Sal

Sal is currently 8 years old. He is predominantly affectionate, sociable, and respectful. He likes to play and interact a lot, and he is very interested in learning new things and being accepted by his peers. He shows autonomy and confidence to perform routine activities by himself, and he only asks for help for the things he cannot manage. He is well bonded with his younger brother. He expresses affection toward Monty, plays with him, and is attentive to his well-being. Sal is currently enrolled in a Montessori school and is in the 3rd grade. He continues to work on following the rules and order within the environment. Sal has a tendency to downplay incidents where other children have been aggressive or abusive toward him, and he often does not report such incidents to adults. He tends to normalize these types of negative rough or violent interactions and does not remove himself from the situation. However, the caregivers have been working with him on this situation and he is improving as well as learning measures on how to protect himself from any abusive situation.

Sal has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder for which he is taking medication. He suffers from atopic dermatitis, has dry skin on his cheeks, currently treated with symptomatic management with the use of moisturizing creams. The child has compound hypermetropic astigmatism and currently wears glasses.  He also has a low weight and height for his age.

Monty

Monty is 7 years old little boy who is described as kind, giggly, and playful. Monty is also enrolled in the Montessori school with his brother and he is in the 2nd grade. At school, he is polite and cordial as he is at home, establishing effective bonds with his classmates and guides. He has a stable mood and is affectionate with his caregivers and most people at the foundation where he lives. He is also able to communicate things that bother him and stand up for himself. He has a good relationship with his older brother Sal, trusts him, and likes to be taken care of by him. His favorite activities are playing soccer with his brother, drawing, and playing video games. His favorite characters are Hulk and Spiderman.

Monty was evaluated by neurology after presenting motor coordination with lag and decreased strength in his lower limbs. A decrease in the strength of both legs with frequent falls was identified, with no apparent alterations in sensitivity. Sensory and motor neuro conduction velocity studies and electromyography of bilateral tibial and peroneal nerves were performed, resulting in a diagnosis of severe sensory-motor polyneuropathy for which he requires follow-up by neurology and rehabilitation (to read about this condition, visit this site:  Sensorimotor polyneuropathy: MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia. He has also been diagnosed with mixed astigmatism and low weight/height for his age.

Please meet George & Miles! These brothers must be adopted together, and both are said to want to be adopted together.

George was born in 2013 and is said to have well developed general and fine motor skills. George is emotionally stable and has good social contact with other children in the school. He does need resource help in school. He has friends and shows respect for adults. He has established habits for independence in dressing, eating and sleeping.

Miles was born in 2012. Miles is diagnosed with deformed feet. He also has some contracture of the fingers in both hands. He has congenital syphilis however he has no clinical symptoms and is not contagious. Miles moves independently but walks on his toes. He also has contractures of his upper and lower limbs. He feels pain with prolonged loading of the musculoskeletal system. However he continues to be energetic and happily runs, jumps and plays with other children. Miles shows affection to adults. He is curious and shows interest an interest in everything. He does need resource help in school. He enjoys being involved in outdoor games with other children.

Galen is an eight year old boy with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, which has left him with some dysmorphic facial features and difficulties with problem solving. In difficult situations he resorts to verbal and physical aggression. He enjoys helping out with household activities, specifically in the kitchen. He is visually impaired and has mild intellectual disability. He has been receiving preschool education since last September. He works with a psychologist, speech therapist, and physiotherapist on a daily basis.

Galen enjoys participating in group activities, but he works better when one-on-one with a therapist. He is capable of focusing for long periods of time on a single activity. When something doesn’t go his way, he can get upset, but with the right motivation he can easily return to his activity. Galen can’t read, but he can distinguish single letters of the alphabet, and can even copy letters. He can count to twenty. In the future, more focus will be put toward improving his knowledge of the alphabet and helping him manage his emotions.

Introducing Kellet! Kellet is a medically healthy 6-year-old boy who is active and very curious about new people and environments. He likes playing with younger children and is able to interact and share toys with peers. Kellet likes adventures and challenges and takes initiative to play with others. He has age-appropriate gross and fine motor skills; he can pour water without spilling, draw meaningful pictures, run and climb stairs without rails for support, throw and catch a ball, and much more! He also has good verbal expressions and age-appropriate language development. He can count from 1 to over 100! Kellet can also engage in back-and-forth conversation and tell a story by looking at pictures. He sleeps deeply at night and eats the same food as adults for three meals a day. We hear that Kellet has good focus at school and can follow class progress and teachers’ instructions.

Update May 2022:

Kellet was seen as a part of virtual SuperKids in February 2022.  Kellet recently turned 7!  Kellet is in first grade and his favorite subject is Math!  He is doing well in school and enjoys his friend group.  His social worker shares that she is impressed by his patience and involvement with activities during their time together.

Kellet shows his imagination through art and storytelling as he recently drew a picture for his best friend, who is a mermaid and lives in the sea!  Kellet expressed a desire to also be a mermaid, so he can be with her all the time!  How sweet is that?!  Kellet enjoys imaginary play through dress up with peers and enjoys playing with Legos.  Kellet is enthusiastic about life, playing games, and has a high level of attentiveness.  He lives in an area where he is able to hike and run in the outdoors- activities that he appears to enjoy!

Kellet has foster siblings.  When they are available, Kellet enjoys spending time with them.

Update: Jan 2023:  Agency reported the boy is will waiting on the list as available for adoption, but neither of his sisters are.   The agency assumption is that she has been adopted.

Update Sept 2022: Agency reported the oldest girl was no longer listed as available for adoption. The younger girl & the boy are still on their country’s list, and listed as available for adoption together or separately.

Original listing for “Andy, Izzy & Kayla”:
Currently, Andy & Kayla are being raised together in a foster home, while Izzy is being raised in a different foster home in the same town. The children see each other often and want to be adopted together so that they can all live in the same home. The foster families do not speak the country’s native language in the home, so the children speak one language while at home and a 2nd language at school.

Andy tested at age appropriate levels on all psychological and emotional testing. He does well in school and does not have any behavioral concerns. He has age appropriate friendships, social skills, communication skills, and self-help skills. He likes to play football and eat French fries. When he grows up, he wants to be a policeman.

Izzy tested at age appropriate levels on all psychological and emotional testing. She does well in school and does not have any behavioral concerns. She has age appropriate friendships, social skills, communication skills, and self-help skills. She enjoys playing outside with her friends. When she grows up, she wants to be a teacher.

Kayla has speech delays that make it difficult to understand what she is saying. She is working with a speech therapist and learning to make the correct sounds so that her words are more easily understood. She is very active and takes medication to control impulsive behaviors and to help her attention span. Her foster mother reports that her behaviors have greatly improved with the addition of medication. She is attending kindergarten and responds well to play based learning.

Dillon, 10, entered protective care he was 16 months old due to his mother’s inability to care for him. The grandmother indicated that his mother had mental health issues, but that she had been unable to get her to seek psychiatric care.

Dillon is in the 2nd grade. He is respectful towards his teacher and classmates. It is hard for him to fully understand subjects such as math and language, but improvements have been made in his reading. According to an IQ test, his intelligence is lower than expected for his age. He can stay focused for short periods.

Dillon´s social development has been challenging. During the pandemic he did not interact with other children. He is currently learning to be calm during his interactions and not to become aggressive towards them. Dillon participates in group activities for short periods since he might become aggressive or behave in a bad way. There are days when a situation has triggered Dillon and he then does not want to obey instructions. Dillon gets anxious about loud noises and insects. Sometimes Dillon demands the full attention of his foster mother. While Dillon is very affectionate towards people he is familiar with, he gets anxious and nervous when around unfamiliar people. He gets worried about going out, mainly because he worries about unknown people. Dillon is still learning to manage his impulses and frustrations, and when he is upset he usually hits the walls and screams. It is important to mention that Dillon gets along better with younger children than with his peers. Dillon’s fine psychomotor skills have improved over time. There are no major concerns regarding his gross motor skills; however, due to his diagnosis, he is restless and harms himself sometimes. Dillon is learning to become independent in his daily routines, but he still needs supervision and support. He has good sleep and eating habits. Dillon is still learning to urinary and bowel control, and he often will urinate/defecate outside instead of going to the restroom. He does not take care of his personal belongings and is still learning to have proper hygiene habits.

Going to the park or getting to do errands with his foster mother makes Dillon happy. He likes to play alone, and he has a favorite outfit that he would love to wear every single day.

Report is from August 2024 — Roman, 12, lived with his biological and an older brother until he was 7 years old. At that time, the place where his mother worked burned and she had to leave his brother with that child’s father, and she moved to a different town with Roman. Unfortunately, she could not find a stable job or place to live and she sought assistance from Protective Services. Roman was previously hosted by a family, but that family opted not to adopt him. Roman is in the 4th grade. It has been observed that Roman has great leadership skills, especially at school. Most of his teachers have stated that Roman has a lot of potential but his lack of motivation hinders his progress and development. However, Roman has great skills in math. He recognizes authority figures; he is respectful and obedient towards them. He can follow simple and complex instructions. There are no concerns regarding his motor, language, cognitive and social development.

Roman is an affectionate child after he has built a positive relationship with an adult. He can verbally express his feelings and emotions; however, when there are situations of high emotional demand, he limits the externalization of what he is feeling. Roman is still learning to manage his frustration and impulses, but good improvements have been observed. Roman is shy when meeting people but can easily overcome this behavior once he feels the adult is trustworthy. He interacts in a positive way with adults, peers, younger children, and animals. Roman gets anxious when he does not get what he wants immediately or when something he was expecting does not end up happening. Roman is sad when remembering his biological family, and this connection is part of why the hosting family did not choose to adopt him. Roman is afraid of dark, thunder, rain, and heights. In order to fall asleep, he needs some light or a stuffed animal.

Roman loves it when he gets to go to amusement parks, the movies or the pool. Roman likes to ride his bike, listen to music, and watch TV. He has stated that he would like to improve his drawing skills.

He has a support teacher at school who helps him a lot. Wally has difficulty concentrating and the support teacher works with him to be effective in the classroom. He has excellent grades. He is open, creative, intelligent and talkative boy. He interacts better with adults – for example, on the way to school he will approach a person with the dog and ask about something. Because of the problems when other children, he is recommended to adoption of the family without children at home or single mother.  The boy dreams about family of his own and he feels very lonely, nobody visit him, and he has no place to go for holidays or vacations.

Intelligent, extroverted, spontaneous, resilient, loyal, a dreamer, creative, affectionate, loving, self-efficient, autonomous, astute, brave, perseverant, with a restless mind to learn new things and face new challenges, and with great capabilities. Despite extreme difficulties in life, this is how Sani is described even though being a victim of severe child abuse of various types—including abuse that led to vision loss —could have led him to be otherwise described. Sani came into protective care in 2022 at the age of 7 years old. He is now 9 years old.

Sani is currently enrolled in the 4th grade. According to his teacher´s report, the child is loved by his classmates. He uses his cane to walk around and there are no major concerns regarding his motor, language, cognitive and social development taking into consideration his diagnoses of secondary vision loss and severe child abuse syndrome. He has great communication skills and can verbally expresses his feelings and emotions with people he is very familiar with. Sani recognizes authority figures, but many times has trouble being respectful and obedient, especially if he does not agree with an instruction given by them. Sani can easily make new friends and has leadership skills among his peers.

Sani goes to psychological therapy. He is still learning to take full responsibility for his consequences, and sometimes he lies to avoid any kind of discipline. Sani is learning to manage his impulses and frustration. If there is a situation that he cannot handle emotionally, he will start yelling or behaving in a hostile way with his peers. Whenever he throws a tantrum, he sometimes experiences psychomotor agitation and uses bad language. Whenever there are situations that make him feel anxious, he bites his sleeves, has sweaty hands or has motor restlessness. He gets upset when he needs to continue pushing to do his best in order to fully know the Braille system. He is afraid of being in a dark room alone. Because of his severe history of child abuse, it is recommended that Sani be the youngest child in the family though this may be negotiable depending on a family’s experience with children from abuse. Sani has expressed that he would like a family with two heterosexual parents and he would like to have siblings.

Sani likes to play soccer and enjoys building with Legos and also engaging in conversations with adults. He likes to listen to music in English or Portuguese since he has expressed his desire of learning new languages. Sani favorite colors are blue, white, black and orange. He loves to practice soccer, swimming, martial arts such as capoeira and riding his bicycle. He even likes to breakdance as evidence in a video sent with his profile. Sani is good at playing musical instruments. He would like to become a scientist, learn about biology and astronomy and also speak different languages.

Salvador has resided with a foster family since July 2018.

He was born with low weight and with pathological neonatal period. The child has a
physical development within the lower limit of the norm and mental delay in mild to moderate degree (IQ-41). Phrase speech is not developed, he utters single words; lags behind in the development of habits, skills, emotional and social development.
Uses optical correction due to intermittent heterotropy and astigmatism of the eyes.

The child walks stably and independently. There is delay in the development of the fine motor skills. The emotional status of the child is mostly positive – he is calm and curious. He does not show aggression, he is adaptive. He understands phrasal speech, utters single words, but does not speak. The child is able to play by himself, but he also is looking for the company of other children. Participates in the game process. He feeds himself, his personal hygiene is well-maintained. He controls physiological needs.

Archer is living in an Eastern European baby home. Short, smiling and calm, Archer’s main diagnosis is atypical childhood autism. He does not speak, but he pronounces sounds and syllables, and he performs stereotypical movements. Archer loves to be alone, and her prefers angles, areas near the window, mirror or door.

Physically well-developed, Archer’s height and weight are normal for his age. He walks by himself, improving his balance. He also climbs, going up and down stairs held by a hand. He can easily open doors.

Archer eats with a spoon, drinks from a cup and goes to sleep by himself. He is not potty trained. Archer makes short-term contacts with the children he knows by touching them with a hand or pulling their clothes gently. He prefers to play with music toys that have buttons, which he pushes to release the music by himself.
