DEAN for the Kuhn family — NY

Jeff and Christine Kuhn first felt called to special needs adoption at the funeral for the daughter of family friends. They loved their daughter fiercely and fought for her to have every opportunity as any typical child would. Inspired by the beautiful life she had lived despite her disabilities, Jeff and Christine realized they wanted to put their faith into action and pursue a special needs adoption. Not having a clue how adoption works, they reached out to a private agency who instructed them they would need to go through foster care. Obviously, this was incorrect information but not knowing any differently, they contacted their local department of social services. After attending the information night, they decided to continue towards certification. Five years and five placements later, their family grew by two. Anthony was officially adopted in 2019 and Sarah in 2021. Sticking with the Noah’s ark theme of two-by-two, Jeff and Christine welcomed biological twins, Eleanor and Margaret, in 2022.

Once again Jeff and Christine felt called to special needs adoption began looking at the waiting children of Bulgaria on Reece’s Rainbow. One boy caught their eye. This child has been waiting for quite some time and is in deteriorating health. They are doing all they can to expedite the adoption process to get him home and healthy as soon as possible. This child does not deserve to be an orphan one more day than necessary. Many people have advocated for this child. It has been a huge blessing for the Kuhn’s to connect with people from all over the U.S. who love this boy and are rooting them on.
